Un-stereotyped!

I really really dislike stereotypes. When each of an individual is unique what's the point of generalizing something as girly or manly. Girls can love sports and Guys can like chocolates. What's the big deal?It literally frustrates me on being classified based on gender.I saw this post on a blog and thought of doing the same.

So here I am : Un-stereotyped! Read on!!

1.My favorite color is Blue and a shade of Red best suits me.Pink is nowhere in the picture.

2.I absolutely love Cricket.Yeah,I do.Back at home,I used to sit glued to the TV with my brother, father and grand-father and clapped for every boundary Sachin scored and criticized Nehra for every run he gave.I have my own superstitions for the game too.I still cherish the World-Cup-Winning moment when Sachin and Yuvi cried and I had tears in my eyes too!

3.I am NOT scared of lizards and cockroaches.Yes,I don't go eeeewwww or aaaaaahhh on espying them.Unlike many others,I never freak out when they come around. Khaa thodi jaayenge!!

4.I love Driving and I'm very passionate about it. Four-wheeler,I still have to get hands on,but with my Two-wheeler I have already done a lot of dhoom dhadaka. I loveeeeee speed and have a good enough direction-sense which many don't have :P

5.I say NO to TATOOS. God I hate them.I mean seriously. What's the point of ruining your simple self for a filthy form of art?Tch!

6.I don't keep long nails ,neither do I apply nailpaints. Similarly I never put on jewelry - matching earrings,rings,chains,necklaces-that's not my cup of tea unless the occasion is really really big and gaudy.I just do not like those cumbersome constrictions!I prefer simple and sober!

7.I am a big tea lover as opposite to many girls.A cup of ginger tea with a newspaper in the morning and with a TV remote in the night was my daily routine at home.Quite manly?

8.I don't get angry that quick, but once I get, its really really tough to manaao-ing me. Bhayankar gussa aata hai......uske baad mei apne aap ki bhi nai sunti!!!! (Janhit mei jaari :P)

9.I love horror,adventure,action,mafia-all types of movies and not just romantic ones. It's the plot and story that matters to me.

10.I love spending time alone and cannot talk too much in general.Women are supposed to be good with words and articulate, but that beats me.I am more of a listener than a gossip-girl.

11. I am better at repairing sockets/burnt wires and changing tube-lights bulbs/fuse than at embroidery and tailoring. Haanjiii!!

12. I never think before eating.If I like it,I'll have it-be it chocolates,cheese or chaat.

So here’s to the not-so-stereotypical,un-womanly me! :D :D
That's all I could think of now...there's lot more in my bucket list :) :)

Thank You My Noble Countrymen!

I remember the times four months back when someone my age was brutally gang raped, when she struggled hard for her life for thirteen odd days, when thousands of men and women protested day and night on streets against it, when peaceful people praying for her recovery were lathicharged and water cannoned by the coldhearted Delhi police and when the anger of people literally came out against the indifferent government and its officials in a very very long time.

I cried a lot then, a lot....for her, for me, for every other girl/woman who unfortunately, yes unfortunately belongs to this country I live in. However somewhere in the back of my mind it was convincing to see the awakened masses on roads resisting the gruesome act, demanding justice for her and protection for their own sisters, daughters and friends. I was a little hopeful then that may be things would change for the better. Every day I used to sit glued to the TV to keep track of her health. I wanted her to live and inspire and fight. But, no she died. Every politician and policeman promised that her sacrifice would not be futile, that they would soon come up with stricter laws, that the culprits would be severely punished.

Alas, as usual and as expected, everything went in vain! I see no amendments in Criminal law bill, I see no stern punishment yet being given to those six savages, I see no measures being taken to curb the menace.  That little hope I had was mercilessly exterminated. What all I see now is increasing number of rapes in the country, particularly in the capital. WHAT I SEE IS A 5 YEAR OLD RAPED REPEATEDLY BY HER NEIGHBOR.WHAT I SEE IS HUMANITY BEING ASSAULTED ALL OVER AGAIN WITH UTTER SHAMELESSNESS! IS THIS THE CULTURE WE'RE ALWAYS PROUD OF?

When the Delhi gang rape happened, I heard a lot of well-educated and generally sensible people saying, “She shouldn't have been out after 8, that too with a male friend, in a place like Delhi", "She should have been sensible to stay home after dark”. Then came ‘expert’ comments from khaps and other 'eminent' politicos-"Girls should not wear provocative clothes”,” Age of marriage should be further reduced to 16","Rape happens not in traditional Bharat but in westernized India", not to forget the dented-painted remark and Aasharam Bapu's 'Bhaiya' theory. To all these people and those who say “She deserved it”, “She invited it all by herself” -WHAT DO YOU SAY ABOUT THE FIVE-YEAR-OLD? WAS SHE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER OWN RAPE?A FIVE-YEAR-OLD-KID? Should she be blamed for playing provocatively, wearing provocative frocks and in general, existing provocatively on earth instead of getting aborted in the womb?

It boils my blood to know that a bottle and candles were retrieved from her body, to learn a policeman bribed her father with 2000 rupees to not file an FIR, to see a policeman telling her family that they should be thankful that the girl is alive, to see a policeman slapping a protesting girl. I am filled with immense rage and fury. I want to scream out loud, very loud, loud enough to break the earth into pieces.HOW INSENSITIVE CAN A MAN BE?

Truly speaking I never had expectations from politicians. How can one expect them to frame tougher laws with the likes of Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Gopal Kanda and N D Tiwari being the MP themselves. I never had faith in the police. They are more barbaric than animals. I am flabbergasted by their insensitivity towards the society. I only had hope in you, the people. But the callousness of the first two P’s has badly thrashed the third P.  Sadly,no lessons were learnt from Nirbhaya’s case. I am dried of all hope! I am sacred to the core. And this time I have absolutely nothing to say except that it is now I realize why my parents are always over-protective for me. No reforms or mindset change can happen in this great country of ours. I can trust nobody(exceptions apart) from the autowallah to the neighbor next door. THANKYOU for giving me a whole new bout of fear (of EVERYTHING) all over again. Good going my fellow noble countrymen. Just well done!
Thank you very much!

Sincerely,
A teary-eyed ,really scared girl in India

PS:BTW Dear Khaps, planning to reduce the age of marriage to 5?Ehhh 5 months would be better,no?

To My Future-Self

Dear Future Me,
I don’t know how much life and times have changed you by now but hope you’re doing well. So how’s life moving –the way you planned or full of surprises, as always? I wonder do you still love Parle-G, are you still a star-gazer, do you still eat many-a-times by your mamma’s hands? Are you the same-ever smiling, shy and skinny girl? By the way, how do you look like now? How about chubby cheeks and curly hairs?
I hope you did make your parents proud of you. Like papa’s boy you are more strong and successful and like mamma’s girl-more sensitive and mannerly. I hope your life still revolves around the universe of your family. Do you still play around with your siblings and share all secrets? I know you must be in contact with your bestest buddies-the three idiots from school, the awesome foursome and famous five from college. Do you meet them quite often and /or phoniyaao them with loads of gossips? Do they all care for you? Do they still make you forget that the world is not a good place? Did you make new friends too? I would love to meet them sometime.
Hope you still enjoy those small-little beautiful moments in life-dancing on terrace, especially in the rains, singing in the bathroom, winds playing with your hair, crushing bubble-wrap, playing with kids in your colony, listening to music on radio, laughing on PJ’s, balloons, budhiya-ke-baal, dairymilk, jhoole, fruity, Maggi, lays, sunset, sunrise, smell-of-earth, last-minute-makeup etc and etc. Do you still savor them all like a seven year old girl? Do you still watch Kuch-Kuch-Hota-Hai and DDLJ everytime it is telecasted? Most importantly, did you learn to cook?.....for I am too bad at it. What about tying your hair in different styles? You learnt it naa? Don’t tell me you didn’t. I have a feeling that you're more talkative now.Prove me right, okay?
Are you still a jhagada-solver between two parties,  often serving as a mediator? Ahh,ain't it the toughest job on earth? Dimaag ki dahi ho jaati hai, nai? Anyway, hope you are helping as many people as you can. Hope you are doing your bit for the country and under-priveleged apart from your shopping and movies and restaurants. I know giving gives you greater joy! Do you still adhere to my morals and principles and beliefs? I hope so! Never give up your values no matter how boring, old-fashioned or lame they sound. Don’t let peer pressure make you forget what you once stood by. Learn to say NO, you’re life is not only about pleasing other people. I will nonetheless appreciate the changes, if any, for the betterment of you and me. Let the light of your thoughts guide you through the tunnel of life. Trust your own instinct and nothing else. Samjhiiiii!!!
Are you keeping track of your bucket-list? How about your passion for travelling and reading? How much done ,what all left? Tried all kinds of tea and coffee? I so want to know all that! By the way, met your special someone, hmmmm? I wonder if he meets my specifications :P. Chalo, I don’t seek that answer. Keep it to yourself. Let it be a beautiful secret between you and me.
Waiting to meet you soon. Hope you are the me I wanted………..and yes keep scribbling,DilWise...aur moti toh bilkul mat hoiyo :)
With loads of love
Forever Yours

Of being away from home

It has been a month today of being away from home. Luckily both my schooling and graduation happened at home town itself. But there had to be a first time. And here I am ,earning my living, hundreds of miles away from haven. While leaving,I had my fears and excitements. I thought I shall be homesick. But I'm not. I thought it shall be difficult for me to adjust with unknown people in an unknown land. But it isn't . I thought I won't be able to adapt in out-of-comfort-zone. But it seems I can. Touchwood. I have really grown up you see.People here are good. The city is also neat and tidy.By the way,I got my first salary too, feels awe-sum-some naa? :)

Howbeit I miss the place I belong to. No matter wherever I go, my heart is where my home is, for it takes me in as I am ,anytime, everytime. The people there yearn to see me and embrace me. I know there is a void there that only I can fill and it is only that place which can make me feel complete.
Here are the few things I truly badly miss ...
1. I miss my room. That very familiar smell, those self-selected interiors and favorite curtains,my warm cozy bed and the soft-soft pillows, my writing table-the cap-less pens and scattered papers,my wardrobe and the mess inside,my big bookshelf, those wallhangings I bought, those nicely put gifts I got,my beeeg desktop and the stuff inside...everything I miss I was so attached with, everything that was exclusively mine. I miss my scooty too. Driving is so much fun, ain't it?

2. I miss Mammy-ke-haath-ka-khana very much. I was very choosy then, nakhrebaaz to be very precise,ye-nahi-khana-wo-nahi-khana. Now realizing how appetizing and delectable that mom-made-meal was, even the things I disliked. The food here is too spicy and sour,not-khayable. I have no choice but to gulp it. I miss those days jab jo farmaaish karo mil jaata tha. The hunger was blissfully satisfied everytime. But here I eat just for the sake of filling my tummy.

3. I miss having good Tea. Yes I do. I am a biggggg tea lover. It has been my companion since ages be it during studying, writing, watching sunset or talking with people.I don't like tea here. The taste is unusual and I really hate that tea-bag-waali-tea. Both mom and I make awesome adrak/elaichi ki chai.No ,I am not boasting, sacchii. At times we had 5-6 cups of tea a day garnished with loads of gossips.Damn,I miss those moments!

4. I miss those shackles that caressed and protected me. Though the feeling of independence is great in itself still I miss those restrictions.Weren't those chains actually threads of love and concern? It felt nice to be looked after. There was always this assurance that if something goes wrong papa/mamma will take care of it. They got worried if I were late or if I was stuck in a problem. Today also they sound apprehensive and caring about my well being but I miss their sheer presence, those they-bother expressions.

5. I miss making coffee/chai for papa, mamma and maggi for bhai and sis. Yes yours truly is expert in making the two. It felt awesome to receive the same bauhat-acchi-bani-hai compliment n number of times. I used to be ready with garmagaram-strong-chai whenever mom came tired after hours of shopping/some outing or when she wasn't feeling well.I know my mom must be missing that bani-banayi-chai,mere-haath-ki.

6.I miss fighting.Yeah its my all time favorite sport; be it verbal or physical. I miss fighting with my bro and sis over something as silly as who will handle the remote of TV, or who got bigger piece of cake or who's turn it is to switch off the lights. Those small little noke-jhonks,that roothna-manana I miss it. I miss asking my father for a packet of chips or an ice-cream cone at eleventh hour of the day, and fighting with him if he didn't get it.Mom used to scold me for not learning cooking and spending too much time on internet. I miss that fight between my logics and her reasons. Daant khana bhi kya koi miss karta hai kya?Shayad haan!

On the top of it all I miss that homely warmth, the love and affection of my parents, being pampered, humor and naughtiness of my siblings, ease and comfort of my surroundings. There is something ineffable about that heaven which only the heart knows of. Corporate world is too sophisticated,I miss that childhood innocence. I really do. :(

LIFE happened...

Lonely. Confused. Misunderstood. Life these days is in I-don’t-want-to-live-anymore phase. Living is but an uncalled-for burden. Things aren't literally working. I’m hating everything around. Everything. Succinctly, it’s hurting to be me. Nothing seems to heal-no music, no friends, no tears. Lost in life’s cobweb I'm struggling furiously to find my way. My writing skills are gridlocked. Words don’t come to me or rather I’m just too numb to feel and express (and I so very deprecate this fact). There are so many other things I wished I could do but I couldn't or didn't.

Though I kind of know what I do not want in life but I really don’t know what all things I actually yearn for.I even don’t know what all I can do, what I cannot. I don’t know what I deserve, what I do not. I don’t know what I should do, what I should not. Whoa , that's my present state of mind.

I hate to go to bed at night and then I hate it even more to wake up in the morning. Fake and blunt smiles outside ensconce the pain within. Folks, jokes and toasts do not please me. My quondam dreams are thrown into hell and I no more feel like fantasizing.

You ask me "What happened?"
And I reply " L.I.F.E dear...............'LIFE' happened"
Ehh??
Yeah!!

That little kindness!

During life’s expedition there are a myriad of things you tend to forget. One such thing is - those small nameless acts of kindness you do or a little generosity unknowingly exhibited by you. For instance offering hope to someone, or inspiring somebody or may be just making a child smile or by just being there. These things at times could not manage to find a space for themselves in your brain box. They are nowhere accounted in your diaries nor are they captured in cameras. But they have nonetheless existed, you have acted that way. They are much like those silken threads that impalpably strengthen not only your own persona but also the roots of the universe as a whole. They are all worthwhile in the end. Your name is carved in the heart of one who got helped. You are remembered even when forget-me-nots have withered.

That forgotten, unremembered little kindness blossoming in the cosmos, isin't it the best portion of a good man's life?

Of being a tronix-ite....

From mighty missiles to space satellites, from LCD screens in your drawing rooms to microwaves in your kitchen, from smart phones/i-phones you show off to laptops/tablets you work on, from iPods/camera you’re crazy about to internet you can’t live without it is we who rule your world- a set of technology driven, gadget friendly people –THE TRONIXITES or officially called as ‘Bachelors of Technology in ECE’.

Credit goes to our forefathers (from Franklin to Marconi to Shockley) for being so innovative, intelligent and progressive. Who would have predicted that someday the inventions of both Edison and Graham Bell would be fused together to give society something that it would use in order to speed up communication? Who would have thought that mankind would soon ditch its dependence on wired telegraphs and instead opt to use Skype to communicate with friends and families abroad? ALL HAIL ELECTRONICS. Wars and weaponry, space explorations, business and finance sector, power corporations, education system and even entertainment industry got revolutionized with the very advent of it.

Coming back to ECE as an engineering trade you gotta know-it is the most awesomest, wowest and coolest branch ever. A perfect blend of technology and fun, enough to drive you crazy. Gone are the times of ‘do aur do panch’. Tronixites work to let 10+10=1010 ( read as 2 plus 2 equals 10). Yes we make miracles happen-Sophisticated Robots, Flying cars, Miniature satellites,iPads; the list is endless. They often say ‘Necessity is the mother of invention’. But we work the other way round. Invent some cool gadget and make people addicted to it. As simple as that! ECE is a mishmash of various other streams with its course including Computer Science subjects (like Data Structures &Networking), Electrical Engineering subjects(like Power Electronics and Control Systems) plus a huge syllabus of its own. And we study it ALL! Phodu naa? Upar se humanities department ko bhi jhelna padta hai. OK, I admit-we are the phodu-est of all (Yes you can definitely pat our back :P).

Truly speaking during the freshman’s year we heard certain non-euphonic facts regarding this branch-
1. It is the toughest branch. Bauhat padhna padta hai.
2. You need to attend a lot of classes. No mass bunks.
3. Job nahi lagti

And I was like-‘Kisne kaha tha mech se slide karwa ke ece le lo…ab bhukto :|’. Howbeit from time to time we realized that 1, 2 and 3 are mere myths. Regarding Point no 1 every individual has his or her own perspective. But you can always be a ‘Decent pointer someone’ by studying just few hours before the exam (like I do). Point no 2-ahem ahem; you gotta be kidding me. Mass bunk karna toh hamari ragon mein hai. Trust me you’ll be bored of not-attending-classes and your non-tronix friends will be jealous of you for the same. Point no 3- we again proved it wrong and had ‘faad’ placements this year. We made it not only to the core companies of electrical and electronics but also to software and business companies pretty well. On the top of it all A FACEBOOK employee is our batchie. Do I need to say more?

This post couldn’t be completed without special mention to EL-3. A combo of naughtiest of guys and cutest of girls it is the most awesome batch ever. Copying is their best policy. Seldom did their circuits worked. They believe that Mass bunk is their birth right and have inspired EL-1 and EL-2 for the same. Nevertheless they are the most todu-faadu people in the whole batch. :P

I’m telling you, no need to tell that ECE IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE BEST. We love tronix and proudly boast of being a part of 2k12 batch. We neither studied loads like CS people nor did we attended all classes like trical or mech. We had unlimited fun, did all sorts of pagalpanti and still bagged the best of jobs. Not only this we were equally into culturals and sports. Talent hai boss.We simply rock. Yeah, E.C.E ROCKS (koi doubt mat rakhna).

To Engineer is human, to be a tronixite-divine! :P

~Stay Connected
and Have a Gadget-friendly day!

Pray: 'Agle janam mohe tronix mein hi keejo' :P

PS 1: Time to say Goodbye. ECE you'll be missed a lot! :(
PS 2: No offences to any other branch :P

Allahabad-My city,My Pride

Naini Bridge
Allahabad meaning ‘adobe of God’-my hometown- is the city of Sangam-the confluence of three significant Indian rivers-Ganga,Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. Besides it is a conglomerate of culture I am extremely proud of, of history I borrow my respect from, of tradition that runs into my veins and of values I appreciate since yesterday till tomorrow.

It is the city where much of the history of India’s independence was planned and written. It was one of the active centres of the 1857 mutiny. It was Nehru’s ancestral home –Anand Bhawan- where the leaders of India’s freedom movement congregated and charted the course toward independence. It is the place where Chandershekhar Azad breathed his last unwilling to submit himself to slavery of the colonial regime. ‘Prayag’ meaning ‘place of sacrifice’ it was so rightly named.

Allahabad proudly boasts of producing connoisseurs in almost every field. It has given India four out of fourteen Prime Ministers till date. The most prolific and prominent writers of hindi literature –Suryakant Tripathi Nirala, Sumitranandan Panth,Mahadevi Verma, Harivansh Rai Bachhan, Firaq Gorakhpuri, Dharmveer Bharti etc belong to this city. Superstars like Amitabh Bachhan and Nargis, renowned scholars like Harishchandra and Amarnath Jha , freedom fighters like Madan Mohan Malviya and Purushottam Das were nurtured on this very land. Such is the sagacity in its soil.

Allahabad is known for education since eons. Allahabad University established in 1887 is one of India’s oldest universities (now being the Central University) and has earned the epithet of ‘Oxford of the east’. Besides there are three deemed universities (including my Alma mater), an open university, research and technical institutions and colleges known for providing higher education in vast range of disciplines. This attracts thousands of students and learners from all over country every year turning this city into an education hub. Allahabad is better known as a ‘factory’ of producing adept engineers, doctors, advocates, judges, IAS/PCS officers and even musicians and writers.

The city is a mix of some of the most amazingly grandiose churches(eg All Saints Cathedral), intricately designed and colorful temples to Hindu gods and goddesses(eg Bade Hanuman ji), and the most beautiful colonial architecture as seen in the old buildings of the High Court, the city offices, the universities, some schools and private bungalows. The view of New naini bridge at twilight is certainly a treat to the eyes.

During the festivals of Magh mela/Kumbh mela thousands of devout from all over the world(including the young, the old and the weak) gather here (through incredible journeys)to take a dip at Sangam making it an extravagant affair of the land. There is a surreal spiritualism in the air all through the fest. It is believed that it is at the Sangam, that a few drops of the nectar 'Amrit Bindu' fell, making its waters truly magical. Faith. Sheer faith! In Allahabad religions truly embrace each other. A Hindu guy helps his Christian neighbor in decorating the X-mas tree. A Muslim guy does not mind selling colors/crackers in his shop. And a Christian guy bows equally before the temples and mosques. Allahabadis celebrate each and every festival with utmost zeal and enthusiasm-be it Ramlila’s at Dussehra or kapda-faad holi. The gusto is so very lively, always!

Allahabadis are too much ‘khaane ke shaukeens’. They can’t do without oily and spicy food. Street foods here are much more famous than hotels and restaurants. Dahi-jalebi at Hira Halwai (our favorite breakfast) or Netram ki kachaudi or Shanti ki kulfi or Highcourt ki daal-baati or Spicy-bite ka non-veg or Sulaaki ki pooriyan or Hari ke samose or Loknath ki namkeens or Barhana ki chaat or Medical chaurahe ke dose-each is ambrosial in its own delectable way. Paan-walas, Chaat-ke-thelas, 'Ganne(sugarcane) ka juice' and 'lai-chaana walas' can be found in every hook and corner of the city, with almost equal crowd at each spot. Who cares about health and hygiene, after all ‘Shauk Badi cheez hai’. Besides Elchico,Kahna Shyam, Friends, Sapphire blue, Sagar ratna etc are other hangouts for sumptuous dinners and treats.

Allahabad has its own nuanced culture – that of extreme politeness, graciousness and righteousness. You’ll be swayed by the hospitality offered here irrespective of you being a Punjabi or Marathi. People put relationships before the product, and take time to recognize the human in the other before the ego in the self. The amiability of ‘aap’ and ‘hum’ is way too winsome. The tu/tera slang isn’t our code of conduct until and unless you mess up. ‘Ram-Ram bhaiya’ is an allahabadi’s way of greeting. So godly, no?

Uncle ji’s generally chewing paans and discussing about politics, aunty ji’s buying vegetables and telling tales, students strolling through the crowded alleyways and children playing gali-cricket or doing patang-baazi are the most common sights you’ll come across. Life here runs at its own leisurely pace and at the same time provides all modern amenities for comfort and leisure. In the very first look Allahabad looks like an old decrepit city. Its foundations are nonetheless very strong. You’ll have to dig deep to get to the implicit beauty of the city. It might not have exotic locations but people are just so beautiful (beautiful you know?) and in its narrow lanes they often cultivate broad-mindedness.

Too wise yet too innocent
Too simple,yet too appealing
Too ignorant yet too knowledgeable
Too dabangg yet too sensitive
Too different yet too similar
........................................are Allahabadis!
                    Proud to be a one!

Kumbh mela
Kuch baat hai ki hasti mit-ti nahi hamari....................................................

A strange calmness envelopes the city when sun rays fall on to it's holy waters. I bet Allahabad’s quiet and peaceful life will leave you mesmerized in an unusual way.

No matter where I go in life I'll always boastfully belong to this city. Long live it's legacy!

I wish to hear a love story...

I wish to hear a love story. Real. Simple. Pure. A love story which did not just happened out of mere need or want or even passion but was delicately destined in the womb of the universe. A story which is more beautiful than God’s finest creations-rains, stars, butterflies, roses and rainbows. A story which is its own exemplary, into this earth but just out of this world! A story which does not tells about love at first sight. Instead portrays how it lasted till the last breath. A story where there is no separation or dying together but undying togetherness and a longing to live more (obviously until God’s own will). A real story which is dreamier than all the alluring dreams there could ever be. I wish to hear such a love story where two hearts are glued with utmost honesty and mutual respect. A story whose essence can ne’er be captured by camera or woven into words. A story where there’s no first, second or last but one, just one –a ‘one man woman’ and a ‘one woman man’ ideally made for each other. A story where love reflects care and care reflects love. A story where the relationship is above any earthly thought or material desires. A story where pain of one trickles down through the eyes of other, bliss of one doubly shimmers on the lips of other. A story where life itself is a romantic song and living is dancing to the tunes of it. I wish to hear a love story where charm at 59 is more imposing than that at 21. A story where there is a silent promise of being always there and an implicit commitment for other’s well-being. A story where the two laugh together, play together, dance together, sing together, dream together, work together, eat together, pray together………live together ………in resonance. A story which talks of love between two very beautiful people(beautiful you know?) swinging in the sea of love adorned with islands of trust, innocence, wisdom, compassion, understanding and everything angelic you can think of. I wish to hear such a story where even knowing the two lovers can bring you close to your own love. A story which can rekindle your faith in humanity. A story which can wet your eyes and distill your heart. A story which can strike few chords of your inside violin. A story where two splendid souls make a perfect couple and you fall in love with the duo. A story which is not a matter of few minutes or hours or even years but starts from forever and lasts till eternity. A story which every guy or girl would wish to be his or hers. A story where the benevolence of two is not only limited to them but to everyone around. Yes a story about two good people in the best of intimacies.

In the current bad-new-times I wish to hear such a love story……….I really wish……………!

Few illustrations....on living!

-        Rohan has always inherited his elder brother’s books, clothes and even toys. Seldom is it that he gets a new one owing to financial crisis in the family. But ne’er has he lodged a complaint. In fact he welcomes every ‘change’ with a broadened smile and (seemingly) enthused attitude.

-        Yesterday was Mr. and Mrs. Mathur’s 25th wedding anniversary. To no doubts there wasn’t any celebration except that the couple went to a temple and Aarti prepared ‘Matar-Paneer’ for dinner. It’s their eldest (of the three) daughter’s marriage in a month. Lots of work pending. Mr. Mathur’s eyes gleam with an echoing contentment as he espies the white, shiny, newly purchased i20 in his verandah (the only four-wheeler). Yes, the one he is gifting to his daughter. He (with his family) had let go umpteenth small little pleasures, everybody knows, for the big day.

-        Radhika started tailoring in her house a year ago. Now she gets enough orders that can suitably finance food for her family, books for her two children, clothes twice a year and may be a little more sometimes. Her husband was a security guard in some agency. But after a rigorous accident he couldn’t stand on both legs and was obviously thrown out of the job. Though he tried various other options but nothing really worked. Frustrated, he cursed his disability destiny. It was then that Radhika took the responsibility. And she is doing pretty well today. Shyam,................. her husband, does the household chores. Though Radhika insisted she’ll manage but he never allows her except to do the dishes. Laxmi helps her father in the kitchen when she is done with her homework and daily studies. Shyam also does all the outside work. He often goes to the market to get grocery and stuff….stationary and toffees for the kids and not to forget…………colorful threads ………… and beautiful bindis ………………..for his wife.

-        Simran has just typed her resignation letter. Her husband works in a reputed MNC in Bangalore and has a handsome package. Simran also worked in a software company in Pune. Nah, not for riches but she was ambitious like many others and wanted to make it big. Recently she has been blessed with twins. There’s no one in the relations except her father-in-law. ‘Family comes first’, she understands. ‘May be some other time’.

-        Aayesha had to settle for a mediocre college, though she knows she deserved better; Paras couldn’t get into his dream company; Reehan lost in the battle of love…..but today ……………………they all have "moved on" in life! ………….”It just ain't possible to explain some things.  It's interesting to wonder on them and do some speculation, but the main thing is you have to accept it--take it for what it is, and get on with your growing.”(Jim Dodge)
. . .

Life is less about Stars,Butterflies and Rainbows …………..and more about Compromises, Adjustments........ and Acceptance!

PS:Illustrations are all real. However names are randomly chosen. Please overlook.

A November night

It was a quiescent November night. Cold and murky. I was standing by my window in my most comfortable attires. The not-so-notorious clouds had bedimmed the gems of the sky .Not even a single star could be spotted in the ambit of my pertinent vision. The milieu was all motionless, dormant. ’Twas as if nature too was slipping slowly under the masquerade of darkness akin to its people who were already in slumber land. There was no gushing of winds, no chirping of birds, no rustling of leaves, no twinkling of stars, no noise off-lying, no, absolutely nothing! Despite there was a unique harmony in the atmosphere, an unusual luster in the sky and a magical symphony in the silence.

The street lamps were lit in the wake of travelers if any .But, in vain. The roads were all deserted. However the warmth of their yellow lightning was quite soothing to their sole spectator. The only movement was of my eyeballs scanning the whole surrounding. And the only clamor was of the transaction of oxygen and carbon dioxide my lungs were monitoring. Surprisingly my mind as well as heart was dried of thoughts. No dreams. No planning. No to-do-lists. There were no regrets from the day before and no expectations from the day after. There was no yearning to fly high and touch the sky. But …………..a natural, involuntary wish to just walk……..walk endlessly barefoot on the road ………….and to feel and see and stare and listen….anything….perchance everything.

Sigh!

My Dream Job(s)

It all began when I was in I-D and had to write an essay on 'My Class Teacher '. Surprisingly, for the first time I got a full star on it.Since then‘Teacher-Teacher’ (and not 'Ghar-Ghar') was my favorite game and I earnestly wanted to be one. I was hell excited to write ’very poor’ in the copy of my students ,to scold them and make them stand on their bench and to take them for picnic in ‘Hathi Park’(revenge you know, revenge :P). The other reason was that I’ll get to wear my mom’s high heels, beautiful sarees and can even use her makeup kit. *wink*

But then unfortunately, in a year or two(class III or IV) my love for cakes and pastries and chocolates out weighted my earlier zest. It was when my mom denied me a pack of chocolates saying ‘Daant kharab ho jaayenge” and on the spot I decided to own a Bakery shop one day.I often pictured myself supping blackforests and temptations all day long. (Slurp! Slurp!) When I told about my 'dream project' to my uncle he explained (after LOL-ing) how I’ll be at loss and that one day I’ll run out of money to buy more stuff for my shop. The clever me had an intelligent solution to the big problem-“Papa is always there, no?”But bade log ........ bade log. He put forth “Why not do something else, earn enough money and buy yourself lavishly all what you desire?” Well, how in the world could you win an argument with a stubborn child?(I mean you don't need to study more for being a shopkeeper plus you'll get to eat so many mouth-watering things whenever desired plus you can have TV in your shop to watch Pogo all time plus you can have holidays anytime every-time and blah blah blah).Poor Uncle Scrooge!

All thanks to DD-1 for diverting my mind. During those days (class IV or V) it featured one serial called ‘Aarohan’ which had Pallavi Joshi as a Navy cadet. I followed it strictly. Her ‘Washing powder Nirma’ washed ultra white uniform, smart looks, never-give-up attitude and stern patriotism intrigued me to be like her. The blue waters and the mighty ships were no less captivating. Opposite to Pallavi was a handsome hunk who was an air force pilot. He was so damn cute. His eyes, OMG what brilliance they had.Ummn…but soon the series ended. Studies began. My childhood fascination was thrown into a deep slumber. Slowly and steadily I forgot him, I mean Pallavi joshi…ehh…I mean ‘navy-mania’. The only thing I remembered then was that chemical formula of water is H2O.Whatever!

The intelligent me soon realized that I had to earn enough money(something like 30 thousand 40 crores 25 arabs 19 thousand 2 hundred 63 billions and 55 rupees :P) to meet all basic necessities of life- roti,kapda aur makan internet, shopping and bank balance. Nonetheless the frequency and range of my ‘Dream jobs’ was apparently quite high. It varied from tourist guide to bank manager, from pilot to interior designer and from astronaut to astrologer. It kept changing and changing until I landed on the highly overrated ‘High school’ landmark. At this stage I don’t know from when, where and how I came to know that I have to be an Engineer IITian and should struggle hard for the same in 10+2. But,in vain.(No,no regrets today!!)

As to this date,  I’m on the verge of being graduated as a “Bachelor of Technology’( a non-IITian to be more specific),that too placed in a business firm. :D

It’s like,
‘Many’ roads diverged in a wood
I took the one ‘most’ travelled by
& Still thinking to make the ‘difference’!!.....:)

Did I told ya that my un-dear and dear ones always had a feeling that most likely I would be a doctor. I wish they knew that it takes me around half-an-hour to intake one 250mg tablet that too with a bottle of water and a packet of chips! Heha!!

So this was the whole twined transition.God bless my unstable mind.Howbeit,a happy heart is all that matters in the end,no?

~keep smiling

I want you to cry tonight

Today I won't droop your shoulders
with the burden of indefinite hope
Neither would I crumple your eyes
to another aura of sleepless dreams.
I won't blabber philosophies today
'It's Destiny','Move on','Such is Life' and so on
Nor will I sink in the sea of emotions
to wet you in the showers of sympathy.

Instead I want you to cry tonight,
Yes do that,it's a begging plea
reel of your pain, let tears tumble down your cheeks
which might be aching owing to fake smiles
Don't make your wounds rot
Don't pretend as if everything's okay when it's not,It hurts
Don't act wise,I cognize you are broken inside !
Let your mind accede to the failure
and lament aloud,very loud
until it outbursts your agony.
Don't be hesitant of the otherwise ruthless world
Nobody will see your break down,I promise.
I'll shut mine eyes too and turn my back,if you desire !
But please cry,cry for once
and let your heart be dried of sorrows
your soul redeem of yesterdays residues !

For O dearest, I empathize
with the irreplaceable loss incurred on you
And so I want you not to just escape it
under the refuge of hope, dream, destiny or sympathy
but instead triumph over it
on the chariot of your own WILL
with the sword of your infinite virtues !

I'm waiting to see you soar high, again
Let You be dawned forever!

I Await You!

Like a coarse tiny vapor
arrested amidst the black clouds
fighting tough to reach out
waiting to be sculptured
into a beautiful white pearl!

Like an unborn dream
in the womb of the heavens
traversing through crests and troughs
seeking for a worthier doer!

Like the darkest hour before dawn
waiting to bathe in the orange light
to exempt all grief amalgamated over night
and zealous to start anew!

Like an eternal prayer of all souls
of hope and happiness
and of love and madness
waiting to be ascertained by the one above!

Like the other half of crescent moon
counterpoised by the beholder
owing to the radiance of it's better half
waiting to aglow to it's full glory!

I Await You!

Just the way you are...

Do I love you because of the clothes you wear?
Nah! I could see through your soul~beautifully draped in rainbows!!

Do I love you because of the way you talk?
Nah! I love the symphony in your silence, the song in your smile!!

Do I love you because of the way you care for people?
Nah! It's because of the way you don't care for yourself!!(Not fair :( )

Do I love you because of the way you are wise and intelligent?
Nopes! It's because of the way you are innocent, and cute and stupid ,all in a blink of my eye!!

Do I love you because of the way you speak?
Nah! It's because of the eloquence in your eyes!!

Are you in my life because you are beautiful?
No! It's because life seems beautiful when you are around!!

Do I love you because of the dreams you weave?
Nah! It's because of the reality you adore!!

Do I love you because of the way you love me?
Nah! It's because of the way you make me love myself, even more !!

Do I love you because you exactly match the one I always desired of in my own world of fantasy?
Oh No!  you are much much more than what I could ever imagine, than what I could ever ask HIM,more alluring than the one I ever dreamt of!!

Do I love you because of the way YOU are?
YES!  just the way YOU are, simply the way YOU are.Your perfections, imperfections, your virtues, your vice, your truths, your lies, I love all, all, all of them.

I CELEBRATE YOU & I LOVE US !!

I Dive Deep, into the Sea of Emotions...

I Dive Deep
into the Dark Sea of Emotions...

To Bring forth
the Pearls of Life
lying scattered everywhere!
To Travel along
the Islands of Joy
Spreading Smiles in Spares!

So that I could
Pour My Love
in the Glass of The Universe
until it Fills and Spills
and Falls back onto Me!

I Dive Deep
into the Sea of Emotions...
not because I'm Weak
but because I LIVE!

Little Girl

A Little Girl I know
Naive, just four
Her Innocence’s ever charming
Her Sweetness names her a darling.
She has a crystal clear soul
O! She’s purer than the pure!

She dances out in the rain
Her tiny feet twirl and part
She sings aloud in her garden
To the tunes of her heart
Without much ado
To the eyes discerning her.

Life is fair to her
As are grandma’s fairy tales
The world is good at large
As her doll house entails.
She’s papa’s boy
She’s mama’s girl
Her aura brimming with love
Unaware of the tide, yet to unfurl.

For she couldn’t fathom
The endless worries
her mother’s eyes emanate
Neither the protective ways
her father resonates
All she wants is
To grow up, to grow big, very big
Like her Mama
So that she could fit in
In her high heeled shoes
(very pretty they are, to her).

Innocence is so much vulnerable,no?
